Catch22 include Attendance Policy

Good School Attendance is essential for Children and Young People to thrive both Educationally and Socially.

We use opportunities as they arise to remind Parents and Carers, that it is their responsibility to ensure that their Children receive their Education. Our school target is 95%.

In my role as Attendance Officer my aim is to work in partnership with Parents and Carers to the remove barriers to good School Attendance. We strive to establish good working relationships with the Families of our Young People through good communication and regular meetings to address on-going attendance concerns.

If necessary we signpost our Families to specialist support services who can work with us in a multi-agency approach.

We promote Good Attendance with our Learners through Reward Systems which include; Weekly Certificates, Individual Rewards and Group Rewards.

Please be aware that should the situation regarding the School Attendance not improve you could be issued with a Penalty Notice or it may be necessary for us to place the facts before Legal Services representatives who may decide to take legal proceedings under the Education Act 1996.

Should you require any further information regarding our School Attendance Policy please speak to Rosy Castle.
